Education is important when it comes to having a strong and healthy smile, which is why our dentist, Dr. Frank Pettisani, encourages you to teach your child all they need to know about their smile, oral health, and oral hygiene. To help you do so, he recommends using the many educational dental resources available.

The first resource is Colgate. Colgate reaches out to children and educates them by providing fun games and activities about the smile online. These games and activities include online pinball games, puzzles, and even a printable brush chart that your child can use to show off each time they brush.

The second resource is Crest. Crest also dipped their toe in the educational world by sharing “Crest Eggsperiment.” This activity teaches kids how their teeth can be effected by drinks, like soda, energy drinks, and so forth. The egg is exposed to the drinks and then something happens to the shell, which is like a representation of what happens to our tooth enamel when we consume drinks.

The third resource is the American Dental Association. The ADA also contributes to the educational world by offering an array of different games and activities on their website. These include videos that teach kids how to brush (they usually feature a fun character, of course), activities that take kids through a fun trip to the dental office, and smile quiz games that test your child’s knowledge.
